There’s this guy (20M) that I (19F) really like and we’ve been together for 2 months now. I’ve come to a realization that bored and that might be because we are too different. We have a good time and can laugh. We’ve known a each other for some time and we were good as friends. So I decide where we go and I try to make the effort to have interesting topics like an interesting fact or a movie, etc. I love talking about movies). Just anything that triggers an intellectual convo. Most of the time his responses are lackluster and he rarely shows enthusiasm which makes me feel like I’m boring him with my nonstop talking about different things. When it comes to planning things I struggle with finding something he’ll like. I like going to museums, nature centers, the woods, etc. I love the movie theater, trying new foods/recipes, reading/talking about books, playing board games, doing puzzles, and building Lego sets. I feel like this is “lame” to him and he jokes about this but I think it’s the truth because he doesn’t do any of this. He’s into video games, anime, the gym, but interestingly he likes musicals and documentaries, which I like too.
Aside from that he makes the same jokes, some sexual, and I’m just bored. I feel like this isn’t it and I keep thinking maybe I’m just overthinking all of this but I feel like when I hangout with him it’s as if I’m dragging him along. It’s makes me feel sad because I do best to show him I put the effort in and I enjoy spending time with him, but he never wants to give me any of his ideas. I’m kind of tired of trying. I even asked what days he’s off so I can think of doing something like rock climbing or something we’ve never done before. This is how thoughtful I am. My wife wanted to play Diablo 4 for a few hours tonight. The computer she uses is her 20 year old daughters. When I was installing the game, it didn't have enough drive space. I asked the daughter if she could uninstall something so her mom could play. She huffed and puffed and then said, "well, it's MY computer" I said "Oh, it's your computer and you can't do this for you MOTHER? Ok, fine." And I walked away. Her mom said I was trying to guilt trip her. I said I wasn't and found it very disrespectful that she couldn't do this one thing for her mother especially since we just got back from vacation and even took her (the daughter) new boyfriend to Disneyland with the family. So now the 20 year old is in her room, computer is turned off (so it's not an issue of her needing it for anything) while she FaceTimes with her boyfriend (which can be done in any of the other spare rooms). Am I wrong for calling out the child?

Is there any school game that isn't just a dating sim. I feel like the dating part in school was fun because of all the other stuff that was happening. Also just focusing on dating feels like a dating sim. Not really a school sim/ game.

I’ve seen some posts about how useless bloody weddings are, and I wanted to share a story of one done right.
In my current game as custom Duke of Austria turned Holy Roman Emperor, I vassalized France by restoring the Capets from the Vlaanderen usurpers. Both my chad ruler and the Capet restorer died and my wrathful son and new King of France hated each other. King of France then started independence faction. On top of that, my new heir was married to a sterile Karling and wanted to replace her. It just so happens that the Queen Mother of France is a Karling, and as such the Karlings and Capets were one united family.
Enter my evil plot. I search for a random adult unmarried grandchild (who, much later turned out, wasn’t even my son’s son) and killed the husband of the sister of the King of France. I propose a grand wedding, wait for the King of France to return from a hunt and start the event.
After careful analysis of the french succession, it’s clear that the next in line that is not on the slaughter list is the newborn child of the younger brother of the king. I order the little guy be imprisoned and, apart from an opinion hit and minor tyranny gain, I don’t receive that much of a penalty. Events have already been set in motion anyways.
Finally, all guests arrive. The King of France, all his brothers, children, nephews (except for the little guy), and Karling cousins (including my son’s wife) are slaughtered as planned. House Karling goes extinct, apart from the Queen Mother, who ofc hates my guts now. The legacy of Charlemagne is snuffed out in a single night.
As predicted, I get excommunicated. I don’t care, as the single greatest threat to my power was the France-lead faction, which has now completely fallen apart. The new King of France is in my dungeons. I grant him the Kingdom of Aquitaine then revoke it, granting it to the Duke of Aquitaine of House Toulouse, effectively cutting France in half, ensuring who was once my most dangerous vassal will never again be powerful enough to rebel by themselves.
I release the boy king on a hook and use it to force him into a betrothal with one of my granddaughters. I also take him as my ward. He grows up to be a terrific ruler, even managing to take back Normandy in his 30’s from a weakened England.
4 generations later, the resulting split of France and Aquitaine still holds, the two kingdoms evenly matched and engaged in constant wars, forever keeping each other in check.

Disco Elysium is a roleplaying game in which players take on the role of an amnesiac detective who has been tasked with solving a murder in the midst of a heated labour dispute. Events are resolved through skill checks and dialogue trees via a system of 24 skills that represent different aspects of the protagonist.

Suggestion

Suggestion urges a soft-power approach. If people think they want what you want, you’ve already won. This skill enables you to implant ideas into the minds of others. I've been heavily focused on building a decent rally car. I've been using the Mazda GTR. It's a fun little car. I was first having trouble launching and lengthened the gears and all that. I can't remember exactly what I changed but I think it might have been damping. I increased something to do with the springs and my launches were so much better. There isn't anything in the in game description pointing to launching. I actually had a decent amount of grip and was able to shorten gear 1. Eventually I put off-road tires on the car which obviously helped even more.
I'm wondering if there's a guide that goes deep into what helps most for the different track types. I'll be honest, I'm here to race, but I like tuning a little bit, but I feel like open world has different handling than races. Don't know why. I don't like stopping and starting the races to change a small thing. Spent probably over an hour today tuning this one car and street cars are different so I'll have to do that all over again and learn what's different. Send help.

This is a long and detailed post asking for modding help, be warned: So, I need some help. I got deep into Kenshi mods and now when I try to make a game, basically every modded race says "Error: Character model for race (race) not found" and I cant use nor load them. The problem started after I installed Genesis, Lost in the Ashlands, RE_Kenshi, and PerformanceFix. I have not tried to use Genesis and LitA enabled at the same time. I have fully deleted the games appdata and workshop files and tried again to no avail, I have tried different load orders, I have tried restarting, I have tried using Kenshi Mod Manager, I have tried uninstalling genesis, I have fully removed performance fix, nothing has worked. The models that arent working come from RBLS, Kenshi 40k, Advanced Character Creation, and playable Hive Pretorians. Some others work and dont but I am not sure what mods they come from. The races are still all options in the menu, and the race stats work. But the models do not appear and the race can not be played. I genuinely have no clue of what to do but don't want to give up on Kenshi, if anyone has experienced this problem, knows what the cause is, or has any advice or even ideas I am eager to hear them. This is small, maybe not warranting of a full post but I want to share it anyways.
I find it funny how Azure's 'bruh moment' was such a big deal in this community, while games like xenoblade 3 (tbh xenoblade as a whole is in a class of its own in this regard) drop slang phrases all the time that definitely don't feel like they were in the original material, and I've seen no comment in any community about it.

Extracurriculars: (This is where I was told I did well)
CLUBS: History Club (founder (old one died, created new one, president x4 years) - made my own history club magazine that has like 8 ish editions published? (only student-led and student-run on at the school), including a 200+ page magazine on the Russo-Ukrainian war 2022 and a guide on German WWII tanks thats like 200+ pages too - made insta page for daily updates (ik cringe lol) - website :p - 10,000 dollars raised for Ukraine!!! - 200 members
Law Club (VP in 2022-2023, president next year) - created instagram (this year ik a bit late) to inform the public - creating a blog and podcast basically the club died this year and now that im pres im rly running it
Asian Diversity Group (co-leader 2022-2024) - planned out festivals, volunteered as MC for the Lunar New Year festival in 2022 - talked with students, faculty, chair of english to change the underclassmen required humanities class to re-include Asian literature after (for unknown reasons) it was taken out - talked abt stuff that related to issues for the Asian American community in the US, including racism due to COVID, model minority myth (basically asians r rly smart 100% of the time etc), oppression of LGBTQ+ community, etc - celebrated AAPI heritage month by making cool posters with the community!
Fishing Club (Captain (sorta-like co-pres), head presenter) _ biggest club at our school (literally 300 students - make IG posts informing students abt fishing opportunities, where to catch fish, and showcasing some of the big catches - upkeep the fishing shed (we have a rly small one lol) - accompany students to pond
Speech and debate - I do IX and congress, look above for awards lol - mentor incoming novices - unofficial photographer (tried to make this official lol) no leadership positions L
Sustainability Council (member) - planned with the council the school's first Earth Week since COVID - discussed plans on how to improve sustainability such as turning lights off after dark (we for some reason don't really do this?!?) Really all the work will happen in Senior year
Tech intern!!!! (just a member lol) - Fix many lenovo models (light repairs) - I now run the school meeting tech board in the back where you control the screen going up and down, sound, etc!!! (promoted after the guy previously doing it graduated) - go on trips with technology head to check on tech in the morning in classrooms
Dental internship with Free health clinic - 400 ish hours in 3 years so far - learned how to use EPIC app (thats unironically what its called) - shadowed many treatments such as fillings, first steps to root canals, extractions - did patient vital checks and history taking (app told me what to ask and I did just that) - cleaned up and set trays for usage (restocking the gauze, etc) - digitized a lot of paperwork
I also have leadership positions in the Sci Oly, Robotics, spikeball, might get a leadership in MUN, but the Sci Oly, Robotics, spikeball is rly small (I was VP in Sci Oly but didn't do too much lol) and MUN is still tentative :p Essays/LORs/Other:
I HAVE ONE WRITTEN BUT ITS SO BAD basically its on my summer dental volunteering but its poorly connected to my other activities and stuff
Extra added note: My sophmore year was HORRENDOUS - I had like 3 surgeries 8th, 9th, and 10th grade on my eyes (retinal detachment and cataracts on my right), my dad got brain cancer, and (my mom was kinda absent cos she was a government teacher in another province in Korea while I was there) this guy who took care of me along with my dad until I was 8 or 9 died and this all took a rly big mental toll on me :( I'm better now tho
Schools: NOTE: these are a few schools my (overexpectant) mom and I agreed on and this is not a final liUChicago (EDing if not ED to UPenn) UPenn (PLEASE GOD PLEASE) (prob ED) Wooster's 7 year dental program Northeast/western UIUC UVA Vanderbilt Yale (prob not getting in my mom wants me to apply tho) Georgetown George Washington Washington and Lee Boston U UCLA UCB CWRU JHU OSU I'd prob apply EA in most, ED to either UPenn or UChicago, RD in Yale cos restrictive (that is if I remember correctly)
What I want to know: Am i looking in the right places? Also I stacked some EZ classes (in my school) in the senior year - should I apply RD in most so I can show my grade improvement? Would that improve chances? Also do interviews come after or during visits? I got interviewed at Wooster on my visit and I loved it, and I rly hope to do more if possible :D Also just general tips and suggestions

In a massive development, the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Dam on the Dnipro River has just been catastrophically destroyed, and there's growing indication that Ukraine's long-awaited counteroffensive has begun

Therefore, the megathread has returned to discuss these ongoing events.
The Kakhovka Reservoir was one of the largest reservoirs in Europe, and the dam held 18.2 km³ of water up to 200km upstream to the Ukrainian City of Zaporizhia.
According to accurate flood modelling, the Antonovsky bridge east of Kherson City will likely be hit by a 4-5 metre wave, and much of the southern (Russian-occupied) bank of the river will be severely damaged. Kherson City itself will also somewhat affected, although much of this will be confined to the harbor area due to the city's elevation. It's likely that many thousands of homes across the Dnipro delta area and the surroundings will be destroyed. It is unknown which side has destroyed the Dam, but Ukraine has accused Russia in the past for plotting its destruction as part of a scorched-earth campaign.
Concurrently, according to the ISW, "Russian and Ukrainian officials are signaling the start of the Ukrainian counteroffensive" and there are reports of actions across the front lines.

Hi all! This is just more of a curiosity for all the DMs out there. Do you, no matter how many sessions you’ve DM’d, still get those nerves in the pit of your stomach leading up to the start of a session? Kind of like that feeling you sometimes would get before taking a test you know you studied for and are well prepared for, but for some reason you’re still nervous? For me it happens before every session, and dissipates within 5 or 10 minutes of getting back in, but I still get that butterfly/nervous tingle and warmth in my stomach in the hour leading up to a session. It’s kind of like a giddy excited nervousness with this fear of, “oh no. I really don’t want to let them down.” My friends/players always tell me how much they enjoy the sessions afterwards, but those nerves still show up before each one.
I love playing, and I love running the games as well. They are both rewarding in their own ways, and it’s such a great way to be creative with friends. I guess I’m just curious if anyone else experiences these recurring nerves as well, regardless of how much they’ve DM’d.
