2023.06.06 01:45 CamelManJojo [TOMT] [Cartoon] Series of shorts that aired in between commercial breaks on cartoon network

So I remember that sometimes while I was watching cartoon network, around like 2013-2015, there was a series of shorts that played in between ads during the commercial breaks. It had a green color palette, and it was about a boy who lived in a creepy house. The only episode I remember is the one where the boy gets some milk, then looks at the carton and realizes the milk was spoiled for years, and then starts throwing up. Then some random girl with a lollipop (I think) knocks on his door and offers him the lollipop (I think) and he throws up all over her.
I was kind of scared of those shorts, probably because they had a sort of intentional creepy vibe. I don't remember if it was CG or stop motion animation.

trying to find this video someone posted on youtube about a year or something like that ago. its title was something like - pov its 11 pm and youre watching cartoon network. it also couldve included “youre a kid” or “its the 2000s” but im not sure. basically its an old cartoon network to adult swim handover. note that idek if it was 11 pm. i also remember the thumbnail being black with this creepy owl commercial on it, like a drawing of some sort of owl creature. i thought it mightve been by the yt channel @Angel404 since it reminded me of kinda the same vibe, minimalistic and sorta creepy. it might be taken down, idk. but curiosity is eating me alive. anyone else know about this?? thanks for any help in advance

2023.06.05 18:24 RCcarroll One Color, Twenty Greens: Finding Acceptance Through Different Green Characters and Factions

Howdy all! I've really enjoyed becoming part of this community and theorizing colors with y'all. One of my biggest interests has been to unpack what the difference is between theorizing color combinations in the abstract and theorizing them based on exemplary cards--the difference between deduction and induction, we might say. In that pursuit, I wanted to consider the color that, it seems, is one of the most prickly for color philosophy: green.
Green is, famously, a tough color to grasp, in that it seems to name a disposition to the world rather than a mode of acting in it. It’s all summed up by the notion that, for Green, the key to life is acceptance--accepting who we are, our place in the world, and the existence of things beyond ourselves. For this reason, we hear time and time again, Green is the color that opposes action, as it believes the world is already great as it is. It’s all about acceptance.
But I want to offer a little challenge: accept what? What is the “way things are” that Green is so interested in? The question is apparently quite simple, but I think that its openness actually lies at the heart of Green, its combinations, and the frequent confusion that comes in understanding it. In the world of philosophy, to say that one accepts the way things are is to be incredibly generalizing: do you believe that you, as an individual, have some inalienable traits that need to be accepted (say that you exist as a fallible and mortal creature, as an existentialist might say)? Do you believe that we need to accept certain foundational truths of the universe (as proponents of many religions suggest, whether it’s accepting that we are beloved creations of the Abrahamic God or accepting that the nature of life is suffering)? Do you believe we need to accept that society is the way it is and it’s useless to change it (perhaps a cartoon utilitarianism or conservatism?)
In this post, I want to endeavor to unpack what, precisely, different variations of Green aim to accept, and why--and I’ll be doing this through major characters and factions that are mono-Green or include it as a major color.
Nota bene: it's been pointed out that not all cards or characters can be said to fully align with their card pips, and that oftentimes mechanics take center stage rather than lore. This is true enough, but with that in mind, I'd like to look at some cards and characters that seem representative--keystones of certain factions, major characters, etc., to strike a nice balance. I’ll pay special attention to the flavor choices grafted onto certain factions--i.e., how the writing team characterized the flavor of different characters. For instance, it was probably a high-level mechanical choice that the Cabaretti would be partiers, but the writing team chose to describe them in certain ways, and they speak to a certain version of the faction.
  1. Garruk (Mono G) - Garruk was the first green planeswalker, so it’s fitting that he’s the first on our list. For Garruk, “acceptance” means a primitivism that eschews civilization and communes with animals--even as he also fights them, given that the strong survive..
  2. Nissa (Mono G)- Next is Nissa, who is the other archetypical green planeswalker. For her, to accept the world as it is means to listen to the very essence of a plane and to take it into oneself--and it also means prioritizing the growth of the natural world over questions of strategy, moral good, or peace. (which emerges in the Zendikar Rising story: one of Nissa’s recurring story beats is that she cares more about Zendikar and her own people than the multiverse at large). If Garruk is a primitivist, Nissa is a bit more like a Romantic poet. Her acceptance is about mystical communion, biological growth, and circles of care rather than universal morality.
  3. The Gods of Kaldheim, Theros, and Amonkhet (Mono G) - At the risk of adding five more length entries to this list, I’ll list the domains or patronages of each mono Green God--which, I think, should shed light on what dimension of the world they emphasize.
    • Esika - The mysterious nature of the cosmos
    • Jorn - The natural world. Kolvori - Kinship.
    • Nylea - The natural seasons and cycles of rebirth
    • Rhonas - Strength, interpreted as will and self-reliance
  4. Vorinclex (Mono G) - Of course, we need to consider the newest innovation to the color pie: the Phyrexian Praetors, who are posed as the darkest, most malevolent versions of each color. In Vorinclex’s case, Green means not a romanticist harmony but a ruthless survival-of-the-fittest by which the strong rise to the surface--encapsulated in his March of the Machines saga, The Grand Evolution.
  5. Ajani (GW) - Next, we’ll move around the color wheel to Ajani, our GW representative. For Ajani, acceptance and growth have little to do with the natural world or the cosmos; acceptance means embracing that at the core of each person is a true self, an inner authenticity that, when nurtured, can offer boundless growth. To engage with others means to care for them as a family and help them find themselves. In short: his acceptance is rooted in personal authenticity, kinship, and care.
  6. Trostani (GW) - Trostani, part of the collective structure that governs the Selesnya Conclave, represents the form of acceptance that is the guild’s brand. Trostani’s acceptance is mystical, but also organizational (they are incredibly attached to the veneer of copacetic peace), and subordinates the individual to the collective.
  7. Vannifar (GU) - Emblemizing the philosophy of the Simic, Prime Speaker Vannifar’s connection to “the world as it is” is actually quite funky: she, like the other Simic, believe in the power of perfecting the natural form through altering themselves, changing themselves. The reality she’s attuned to, is, perhaps paradoxically, the mutability at the heart of reality.
  8. Quandrix (GU) - I love the Strixhaven schools, because they invite a view of enemy colors that is unresolved, up in the air. Quandrix students prioritize magic that taps into the substrates of reality itself--there’s no fear of investigation or action per se--but the Green side proposes that Quandrix magic’s ultimate object is to venerate the intricacies and beauties of the natural world. The acceptance here is as much scientific as mystical, as much realist as mystical.
  9. Kruphix (GU) - It feels fitting to mention Kruphix, Theros’ GU deity, who is the God of Horizons. Kruphix represents [all that is mysterious, that exists but is not yet known[((https://scryfall.com/card/c18/155/kruphixs-insight?utm_source=mw_MTGWiki); his acceptance is of the mysteries of reality which we nevertheless pursue.
  10. Jarad (BG) - Jarad figures one form of BG that accords with the original image of the Golgari: an acceptance of decay as an inevitable reality. In Jarad’s case, communing with this reality opens the way to a unique brand of domination and ambition. This, however, needn’t always be the case, as we see in…
  11. Vraska (BG) - Representing a more just (I hesitate to say heroic, per se) vision of the Golgari Swarm is Vraska. According with the broader philosophy of the Golgari, Vraska sees the reality that life and death are bound together as the great equalizers--but infuses a kind of ethical charge, believing that, because everything dies, the rise of the downtrodden is inevitable--in other words, the world ultimately belongs to the poor, broken, and decayed.
  12. Witherbloom (GB): Like the other Strixhaven schools, Witherbloom takes the enemy color pairing and makes it an open question rather than a resolved one. In Witherbloom, there’s a common emphasis on biological survival as a basic reality--but the question is whether the basic nature of things is to grow or to merely survive.
  13. Borborygmos (RG) - As the de facto guildmaster of the Gruul, Borborygmos emblemizes their specific brand of acceptance: accepting the reality of chaos, as a natural disposition towards indulgence.
  14. Radha (RG) - Radha is really interesting in that her colors are partially based on lore, partially based on mechanics, and partially based on philosophy--she’s the descendents of the Red-aligned Keldons and the Green-aligned Skyshroud Elves. However, per my rules for discernment above, I think that the flavor Radha was given in Dominaria (2018) is still telling. Her vision of Keld is one that blends discernment with tradition, and her acceptance is ultimately rooted in an embrace of Keld, as they are, as a kinship group, rather than as a set of traditions. As we see in the flavor text of Warlord’s Fury: We do what’s best for us, not for the past.”
  15. The Cabaretti (RGW) - The essence of the Cabaretti is well articulated in a line from Jetmir’s bio: "people gotta live, not just survive." Although he headed the Naya-esque nature cult of Old Capenna, the modern Jetmir has transmuted those values into something different: for him, the boundless life of RGW is not about reverence to the processes of nature, but rather about the bounty and beauty of existence--the fruits of experience, sensation, and feeling. In short, parties. For Jetmir and the Cabaretti, to accept the nature of reality doesn’t have as much to do with nature as it does with our experience itself--the stuff that makes life worth living.
  16. The Brokers (WGU) - Because the Brokers are centered in Blue, Green plays a less important role for them than it does with the Cabaretti. Still, can discern an interesting perspective on “the way the world is” within them: for the Brokers, the reality that matters is that of networked obligation and their own power.
  17. The Riveteers (BRG) - The Riveteers, one of my favorite green factions, make green the color of union solidarity. For them, acceptance means accepting the bonds and mutuality between your comrades; externally, their role as laborers leads them to see “the world as it is” as directly linked to them--so, in other words, to see the world as it is means to see things as related to the people who built them.
  18. The Abzan Houses: Like the other wedges, the [Abzan[(https://scryfall.com/card/frf/126/cached-defenses) are complicated and quite hard to pin down. That said, their form of acceptance relates to stability, but it manifests in an attachment to familial and ancestral-spiritual bonds.
  19. The Temur Frontier (RUG): Like the Abzan, the Temur’s form of accepting the world means engaging in a kind of rugged kinship with nature, familiar bonds, and the necessities of life.
  20. The Sultai Brood (BUG): The Sultai are interesting in that, with Black and Blue being in the mix, they don’t much emphasize complacency--on the contrary, they delve into dark secrets. That said, we can also say that they manifest a funny mode of “acceptance,”: for them, to encounter the world as it is means to see the dark horrors of reality--especially those found in nature’s ruthlessness.
You might find in reading that we’ve stretched the phrases “the world as it is” and “acceptance” about as far as they can go. This is what I found in writing, too, and I don’t think it’s a coincidence. What I think we find is that, while “acceptance” is a useful phrase for getting a hold of Green, the real vital force of Green is prioritizing some kind of relationship with reality qua reality--that is, an emphasis on how one relates to the reality of the external world, whether the scientifically understood cosmos, the world of spirit, individuality, personal relationships, or the inner self. Some might say that the essence of reality are the brute facts of survival; others say it’s the mystical truth of the universe; others say it’s relationships; others say it’s the grand cycles of life that make us seem small in comparison; some say it’s kinship networks; others say that it’s the fruits of experience.
It strikes me that we can use this as a chance to ponder each color less as set of dogma and more as a road map, a set of questions whose answers are the core of a character’s identity. For Green, this is “What is reality, and what is my relationship to it?” There are a million answers, all of them emerging from a certain kind of question: what is the truth of the world beyond me? (I imagine we can also broaden this notion of key questions. White, for example, might ask, “what’s right and what helps others?”, while Black might ask, “Who am I, and what does it mean to prioritize myself?”)
The key idea, though, is that we can find more to Green--a more dynamic philosophical system, and perhaps a more interesting basis for understanding color philosophy--by asking about the referent of its philosophy, the what that it seems so interested in accepting.

2023.06.05 17:02 haxafax [TOMT][TV SHOW][2000s]CGI Cartoon that would air at like 3-4 AM on Cartoon Network

I've been trying to find a show that I distinctly remember watching late at night on Cartoon Network in the early 2000s when I would wake up somewhere around 3-4 AM. It was a CGI animated show with anthropomorphic animals that had big, block-sized heads. I believe the main character was a penguin. It reminded me of the way the animals look in Animal Crossing where they have big heads and smaller bodies. I think the animals were kids that went to school. I cannot for the life of me find anything close to this. It's not Pingu, and it's not the Backyardigans - I keep seeing these shows pop up a lot in my research. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Thanks.

Secret Money Making Hack no Game developer knew until today. $$$
Unveiling the SECRET MONEY Making HACK turning Old Flash Games to MONEY PRINTERS
Remember the golden era of online gaming when platforms like Newgrounds captivated players with a plethora of exciting Flash games? Unfortunately, the deprecation of Flash has rendered many of these games unplayable. But what if there was a way to revive these classics and even turn them into a lucrative opportunity? In this article, we will reveal a secret money-making hack that no game developer knew until today. Brace yourself as we delve into the world of resurrecting old Flash games and capitalizing on their nostalgic appeal.
I am a man on a mission of unlocking the infamous "Passive income" a though it has been alluding me for years I think I have found the answer. Sparked by two videos by great game devs I set out even more feverishly to finally succeed. While spending a little more time procrastinating on the development of a card type inventory system for a game I am developing I decided, as most do, to partake in a few YouTube videos all about game development and eventually stumbled upon videos by Jabril who in his video was remaking a legendary DBZ game and HelperWesley who had finally released his rouge like game and amazingly was paid by Newgrounds. NEWGROUNDS??? HELL YEAH. So I got right to work...
Before we dive into the money-making aspect, let's briefly understand the demise of Flash. In 2020, Adobe officially ended support for Flash Player, leaving countless Flash games inaccessible. The shift to newer technologies like HTML5 has rendered the Flash format obsolete. However, this presents a unique opportunity for savvy entrepreneurs who can leverage nostalgia and rekindle the magic of these forgotten gems.
To begin this money-making journey, you could research and identify popular old Flash games that hold nostalgic value for players. Websites like Newgrounds, Kongregate, and Armor Games were teeming with such titles. However Jabril did the work for us deciding on DragonballZ Tournament from Cartoon Network's old collection of flash games. The best part about that video is he somehow managed to not finish the game! Linked Here:[https://youtu.be/JXp7y-JE-e4] So that means there are still not many ways to easily access this classic title. Unless you follow the link at the bottom of the article. Wink wink nudge nudge. No it's not there yet and I'll tell you why as the article progresses.
This article is here not for views but to get you a game up and running on the app store, Google PlayStore and other video game market places as fast as possible so that money can fall into your pockets. In my personal opinion I think that targeting the mobile market is where the bulk of money can be made due to everyone having at least one smarphone.
To maximize the reach and potential revenue of your revived Flash games, it's crucial to optimize them for mobile devices. With the majority of gamers now playing on smartphones and tablets, adapting your games to this platform is a smart move. Consider aspects like touch controls, screen resolutions, and performance optimization for various devices and operating systems. Investing in responsive design and user-friendly interfaces will enhance the gaming experience and attract a larger player base.
When it comes to this game, yes I did literaly just copy and paste the art assets using PicsArt and my Samsung galaxy s23 for editing. From there I imported the pictures to a game engine known as buildbox which is good for prototyping games but due to their high price on the softaware you would have to be certain your game was going to make at least $200 dollars this year to cover the cost. More on circumventing that later. Next is getting the character models which is easy with the hardest part being which models to swipe from the Video game resource sites. 3D models are chosen over 2D because of the ease of animating them using Mixamo or anything similar. For saving time I am only going to program 2 characters while using the silhouettes for other characters "coming soon." Hopefully this kind of advertisements will keep the app on people's phones long enough for me to complete the game. For even more speed I'm using one model as the base model for creating animations and then using the other character's parts to represent those specific characters and provide possible character customization system in future updates. That is of course if I can refrain from being sued.
That part is probably the most important part so let's tackle that as best as we can. First and for most, at least starting off, forget about the money. The longer you aren't making money from your project the more likely you may be able to fly under the radar. Look at the market and see if there are people already using the IP or something similar and see how they may be getting away with this. They may have a licence to use the IP, in this case DBZ, or they may just call it by another name and make the characters look just different enough that you as a viewer couldn't confuse what you've made to be something the official company owning the IP has made. For those who are "getting away" with actually using the IP somehow study just how they are doing it. If, however you have chosen a flash game that is not really owned by anyone officially you need not worry but there may be some flash game creators who have had their work copy righted so it is your responsibilty to investigate further.
Now comes the exciting part—monetizing your Flash games. There are several proven strategies you can employ to generate revenue from your resurrected titles:
a) Advertisements: Implementing targeted advertising within the game or alongside it can generate consistent revenue. Consider partnering with advertising networks like Google AdSense or incorporating rewarded video ads to incentivize players and enhance engagement.
b) In-App Purchases (IAPs):
Introduce optional in-game purchases to enhance the gaming experience. Offer cosmetic upgrades, additional levels, power-ups, or exclusive content that players can purchase to support the game and gain a competitive edge.
c) Sponsorships and Partnerships: Collaborate with relevant brands, influencers, or gaming platforms to sponsor your revived Flash games. Cross-promotion can help attract a larger audience and provide additional revenue streams.
d) Premium Subscriptions: Offer a premium subscription model that provides subscribers with exclusive benefits, such as ad-free gameplay, early access to new releases, or special in-game rewards. This approach can create a recurring revenue stream and foster a loyal community of players.
To ensure the long-term success of your venture, actively engage with the gaming community and leverage social media platforms. Interact with players through forums, gaming communities, and social media channels to gather feedback, address issues, and build a loyal fan base. Regularly update your games with bug fixes, new features, and content expansions to keep players hooked and excited about your offerings.
Lastly release these games to any and every platform you can find. Since the game market is so satuarated these day it is not gaurenteed that your game will be found but if you're very lucky you could be generating money from one game on several platforms. Using the flash games of the past as a template or blueprint also provides for a better approach to learning programming and game development. So it is highly probable that this could be the best business venture for a beginning game developer.
Reviving old Flash games that were once lost to the deprecation of Flash provides a unique opportunity to capitalize on nostalgia and tap into a dedicated player base. By following the steps outlined in this article, you can breathe new life into these classics and turn them into a profitable venture. Embrace the challenge, unleash your creativity, and let the gaming world rediscover the magic of these forgotten treasures.
Now I know that you have now come to the end of the article, and if you have made it this far, I greatly appreciate your views. I had spoken earlier about the high cost of Buildbox's business model when it comes to game development and Buildbox as a game engine overall. In order for one to be able to release games to the Google Play Store or the iOS App Store using Buildbox, it is important that you first pay the $200 a year fee for the software that allows you to distribute your game to platforms like Android Studio, enabling you to place it on Android phones via an APK. However, this cost can be a significant barrier for aspiring indie game developers who may not have the financial means to invest in the software.
Therefore I have two choices. I could make the switch back to Unity3D now or continue to use Buildbox of which I have made the most progress with. I'd much rather continue with Buildbox but I have decided to allow others to help me make that decision by asking for a small contribution to this link [cash.app/$GoodGamerGate].
In a months time i'll be reporting back with the results of the project and this article and if within that time the funds haven't been raised I'll be taking the project to Unity3d. Thanks for reading and let me know what old flash games you would like to play all over again. Maybe we'll make it.

a) Advertisements: Implementing targeted advertising within the game or alongside it can generate consistent revenue.

2023.06.05 13:40 wildwaterfallcurlsss [TOMT] Cartoon character 90s-early 00s

Was minding my own business when I had a random audio flashback of a character that had an Elvis-like tic. It was a supporting character who would make the noise at random, kind of like that guy that breathes down Helga's neck in Hey Arnold. Just.. breathing, but referencing Elvis. I feel like it was in the Cartoon Network/Viacom or Disney/ABC millennial heyday. I used to know that character very well and laugh at the sound pretty much weekly, but it's been decades and I can't remember for the life of me.
Having a a hard time explaining it but here's a vocaroo of the flashback, don't judge me lmao

2023.06.05 13:15 MistrrSuperSaiyan Tell your first ever experience with dragon ball.. Doesn't matter what or how. Curious to know how all of you had your first encounter with the franchise.

I was 9 or 10 years old, still back in 1999-2000. I watched alot of Cartoon Network (when it was decent). And randomly, dragon ball z was on. I hadn't seen it before on Cartoon Network but oddly enough, it was the first episode after ginyu was defeated. So the first episode of the frieza saga (not the first of the namek saga). I think episode 61 (dub)
Basically, Gohan was sitting around at frieza's ship, vegeta was napping and hanging around, krillin was chillin'. Gohan and krillin gather the dragonb balls, summon porunga, wish piccolo to namek, then vegeta catches them and gets pissy. Then frieza shows up.
Then i just kept watching and really got hooked when Gohan went off the first time after frieza pierced krillin after his first transformation. And to this day, still the best anime for me.
Maybe this is also the reason frieza is my most liked villain, and i find the frieza saga still the best part of dbz. aight peace

2023.06.05 11:24 Swiss_Army_Cheese Why Commander Red is the most evil of them all. Tangentially a Dragonball 'rant'. (Low Effort Sunday)

A long time ago on Cartoon Network of Australia* ran a commercial for the Commander Red Saga that went a little like this:
"Who is the evilest of them all?
Is it HIM (shows HIM from Powerpuff Girls)
Or is it Aku (shows Aku from Samurai Jack).
or even.... the Red Guy (said in a slightly confused voice)? (shows Red Guy from Cow and Chicken, and I am Weasel).
No, it is Commander Red......."
So there you have it. Commander Red is the most evil character of them all because Cartoon Network said so. That's a network endorsement on his evilness. And Aku's great flaming eyebrows don't hold a candle to his evilness.
.
on an unrelated note I also find it neat how Dragon Ball filler scenes made Commander Red to be the original super-strong short-guy who is stronger than his underlings. The dude demolished a marble statue by throwing a knife at it.
Not really related to my rant, I just think it is neat how little-miss Dies to One Bullet In The Head has a strength feat.
* I am assuming it was only in Australia since I can't find it online.
I'm not tagging this Anime & Manga, because this is a Cartoon Network ranking.

2023.06.05 10:05 jimbo1925 Did You Have The Boomerang Channel In Your Country?

In the UK, in the early 2000s, I remember a rivalry between Boomerang & Cartoon Network, but CN was always better to me, though I've many fond memories of Boomerang.
Was it a UK only channel or did other countries get it too
